With more than 38 years’ experience in the field of handwriting, Sheila Lowe has been qualified as a handwriting expert in the California Court system since 1985. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and was certified by the American Handwriting Analysis Foundation in 1981, as well as the Society of Handwriting Analysts in 1985. She is an active member of the National Association of Document Examiners.
9:00 to 9:15 Welcome, announcements from President Peggy Rondeau
9:15 to 10:00 a.m. “What Makes You Tick?” – American Professor of Psychology Abraham Maslow (1908-1970) is famous for his hierarchy of needs, proposed in his 1943 paper, “A Theory of Human Motivation.” In this paper, Maslow uses the terms Physiological, Safety, Belonging and Love, Esteem, and Self-Actualization. Sheila will show us how to detect these motives in handwriting, and how higher motives can only be addressed when lower motivations are fulfilled.

10:30 to 11:30 a.m. “What Makes You Tick?” continued

11:50 a.m to 1:10 p.m. Lunch
1:10 to 3:00 p.m. “Finding Major Character Traits Using the Gestalt method of
Handwriting Analysis.” Graphoanalysis is an empirical approach that builds a picture of personality stroke by stroke, while Gestalt is a global approach, looking at the big picture. Sheila will show us how to assess the big picture; and how Graphologists use Space, Form, and Movement in personality assessment.
Also, “Possible Health Indications in Handwriting.” Disclaimer: One cannot
diagnose medical illness, such as heart disease, using handwriting analysis. However, there are possible indicators, and Sheila will show us examples of possible medical conditions in handwriting
3:00 to 3:15 Break
3:15 to 3:55 p.m. “Unusual Handwritings” Sheila will share part of her collection of unconventional handwriting for review and brief analysis.

CAHA was originally known as SCCG, (Southern California Chapter of Graphoanalysts). CAHA's primary objectives are:
• to increase the Members' knowledge and comprehension of Handwriting Analysis through instruction, meetings, lectures, and research of this science.
• to promote professional interest among CAHA members and those engaged in other professional fields in the use of handwriting analysis for the betterment of human relationships.

CAHA meetings give everyone, novice or professional, an opportunity to learn more, brush up on the basics, or explore interesting concepts in the world of handwriting analysis.
While most of our members are from the Southern California communities of Orange County, Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, we also have members from as far as San Diego, the Central Coast, across the United States, and internationally.
